Reveiw: adidas miCoach Pacer Bundle! Great Buy!

Adidas has this great little device called the miCoach, it tracks your runs and gives you live coaching so that you can perform at the top of your game. I purchased one a while back and have gotten great use out of it. Its highly advanced in terms of features and your ability to track progress- which in my option is the only way to achieve your goals.

Now let’s get started!

I have used Nike+ in the past and you don’t really get much for the price – a stride sensor and some instructions.  In my miCoach bundle you get a stride sensor, an ear phone, a heart rate monitor strap, attach each piece and wait for the main unit to recognize all the parts.

The main unit must also be attached to your computer. This way you can track your progress through the miCoach website. Each time you attach the device to your computer and sync it, the device will automatically update your online profile with your progress- pretty neat eh?

The main unit can be charged in a normal 12 volt plug. It doesn’t take very long for it to have a full charge.

Running!

While running you have two totally different modes to chose from. The free mode allows you to run without having any coaching while coaching mode will chime you to follow your run routine, either to run faster or slower, or even to maintain your speed.

After your run, its super easy to connect your miCoach to your computer to sync it. The cables are included to connect to your computer; it works with both Mac and PC. I didn’t have a single problem connecting my miCoach to my PC the first time I did it- I’m hoping you won’t either!

Adidas and the miCoach Website!

Adidas hit a home run with their miCoach website; it’s easy to use and designed with the user in mind. You can select a workout plan or customize your own plan. I highly recommend giving the premade workouts a shot, especially those beginner runners. The other workout plans for the intermediates or advance runners also exist.

The site also has great tips and pointers for those looking to get a refresher on how to run smarter. I also found the calendar and schedule functions to be highly useful.

Batteries

I wouldn’t worry about the batteries, the guide says they are suppose to last 10 hours and I have definitely got more than 10 hours out of them. It also charges fast, i found my unit charged fully in 2 hours. Plus due to high use my unit hardly required a full charge, mainly due to the fact it charges while the unit is being synced.

So what do I think??

Buy, buy, buy.. This unit is great and for sure beats out Nike+ which doesn’t have the site to sync the device or the heart rate sensor.  I have gotten great results and have actually begun to get back into shape! I would say that it definitely pays for itself and is totally worth the money.
